Terms of Service
Effective November 5, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Chipin Me, Inc., the Delaware corporation that runs chipin.me. We wrote them so a supporter can read them in one sitting. By using chipin.me you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, write to support@chipin.me.
1. Who we are
Chipin Me, Inc. is a Delaware corporation. In these terms we call it chipin.me, or we. chipin.me is a fundraising platform, not a charity. Gifts made through it go to the organization a page names, never to us. The one address for every question, request or complaint is support@chipin.me.
2. What chipin.me does
Anyone can start a fundraiser page on chipin.me. The owner picks gear from the lineup, such as a t-shirt, singlet, towel or banner, and sets a price per square. Then the owner shares the page. Supporters claim squares with their name, a few words, a photo or a logo, and those print on the gear. Every page raises for an organization the owner names. The owner chooses the organization, the gear and the price. chipin.me provides the page, the tools and, on some pages, the checkout.
3. Who can use chipin.me
You must be at least 18 to create an account or a fundraiser. Supporters under 18 may give only with a parent's or guardian's consent. Keep your account details accurate and your login private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@chipin.me if you think someone else has used it.
4. Starting a fundraiser
When you start a page, you promise that everything on it is truthful. You promise that you have authority to raise for the organization you name. You pick the price per square and the gear, and you keep the page up to date. You answer supporters' questions about your page. On pages that use an outside donation link, you confirm each claimed square by hand once the gift arrives. You may hide or remove content on your page at any time.
5. Two ways money moves
Pages with an outside donation link. Many pages send supporters to the organization's own donation page through a link. The supporter gives there, under that site's terms. chipin.me never touches that money. The page owner then confirms the claim by hand.
Pages that take payment on chipin.me. Some pages take payment on chipin.me itself. This is only open to organizations that have been verified, as section 6 describes. The supporter pays by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link, and Stripe processes the payment. The charge is made directly on the organization's own Stripe account. chipin.me never holds charitable funds. chipin.me charges the organization a 2.5% platform fee, collected as a Stripe application fee. The card processor charges its own fee. Donors cover both fees on top of the gift, so the organization receives the full gift. The exact amounts are shown before anyone pays. Our fees page works the numbers out in dollars.
6. Verified organizations
An organization is verified when three things have happened. A representative with authority has claimed the organization's directory entry under their own account. The organization's EIN has been checked against the IRS list of tax-exempt organizations. And the organization has connected a Stripe account that passed Stripe's own identity and bank verification and is enabled for charges. Verified organizations are responsible for their own tax status, the accuracy of their receipts, their refund decisions and their own compliance. The Stripe Connected Account Agreement applies to them.
7. Receipts
When a supporter pays on chipin.me, the organization issues a numbered receipt through chipin.me. It shows the organization's legal name, EIN and address, the full amount paid, and the line the organization chooses about goods or services. On pages with an outside donation link, the receipt comes from that site. Whether a gift is tax deductible depends on the organization's status and the donor's situation. chipin.me does not give tax advice.
8. Refunds and disputes
On pages that take payment on chipin.me, a supporter may ask the organization or support@chipin.me for a refund within 30 days. The organization decides. A refund returns the full amount the supporter paid, including the covered fees, from the organization's account. chipin.me returns its platform fee at the same time. The square comes off the page. Card disputes are handled by the organization through Stripe. On pages with an outside donation link, refunds follow the other site's policy. Our donor terms say more.
9. Printed gear
Supporters and owners can order the printed gear from a page. Orders are fulfilled by our print partner, Printify, and paid through Stripe at the price shown. Your shipping address goes to the print partner so it can deliver the order. Gear is printed to order, so returns are only for misprints or damage. Report a misprint or damage within 14 days of delivery, with a photo, to support@chipin.me.
10. Content rules
Keep every page truthful. Only raise for an organization you have authority to raise for. On pages that take payment on chipin.me, squares may not carry offers, promo codes or links. Nowhere on chipin.me may content be hateful, sexual, violent, infringing or deceptive. Page owners may hide or remove content on their pages. chipin.me may hide or remove content anywhere on the service, and may pause or close a page or account that breaks these rules.
11. Your images and words
Any image you upload must be yours to use. You keep ownership of what you upload. You grant chipin.me and the print partner a license to display and print your words and images for the page and its gear. The license covers that use and nothing else. Supporters can choose to appear as Anonymous. A supporter can ask to have a square hidden or removed by writing to support@chipin.me.
12. What we promise, and what we do not
We work to keep chipin.me running, accurate and safe. Still, the service is provided as it is, and we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We are not a party to the gift between a supporter and an organization. We do not control what an organization does with a gift. To the extent the law allows, chipin.me is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. To the same extent, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the platform fees we received on the transaction the claim is about. Nothing here limits rights that the law does not allow us to limit.
13. Closing an account
You can close your account at any time by writing to support@chipin.me. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Pages tied to a closed account may be hidden. Records of gifts and receipts stay with the organization, which needs them for its own books.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as chipin.me grows. When we do, we post the new version here with a new effective date. If you keep using chipin.me after a change, the new terms apply to you.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Any dispute that we cannot settle by talking goes to the state and federal courts in New York, New York. Before filing anything, please write to support@chipin.me so we can try to fix it first.
